Colthoff Demonstrates Improvisation
At a course for student cantors, Cantor Daniel Colthoff was asked to give a live demonstration of what is known as Cantorial improvisation or text painting. He chose to sing Av Harachamim, the memorial prayer recited on Shabbos morning before Musaf prayers.
