The Story of The Blind Chazan

Cantor Abraham Immerman was a legendary South African cantor and teacher who died on 7 April 2003.

Born blind, he was known as ‘The Blind Chazzan’ and ‘The Man with the Computer Brain’ as he had memorised by heart the entire Torah and synagogue services despite never being able to see.

  3. A most remarkable story and well worth reading! It certainly makes one realize all that we have to be thankful for! Cantor Abraham Immerman is a man who showed us all how much we can do if we put our minds to what we believe in!
